Remote photography

After moving to Canada at the beginning of 2005, Nova Scotia to be exact, we began looking for a small business to start and run. With the bulk of my experience being firmly in the IT industry and a solid background in photography I wanted to see if I could combine the two.

After extensive research and many false starts, we now have a young company specialising in Mobile Mast Photography, and to our knowledge we are unique to Nova Scotia.

Our system mainly consists of a mobile mast that is attached quickly to our 4x4 vehicle by a custom designed and built mast support attachment.

We have a website http://www.50ft.ca. Within our website we have a demo explaining exactly how our system works.

Equipped with a 50ft extendable mast, a laptop, Olympus C-7070WZ camera and of course inPhoto Capture software providing full control of Olympus camera we can take a birds eye view of most things, our perspective is terrific, we can take a photo of a house, so it not only shows the home its self but also the surrounding area.

This we find is a very strong tool for real estate agents selling homes. We also take photos of larger buildings supermarkets etc, that traditional ground based photography simply would not allow. Locations like car show rooms with their extensive stock can now be easily photographed with one picture, and thankfully all controlled from the ground by inPhoto Capture software.

As we mentioned earlier, we are a small company who is really just starting out. So the additional uses of our system are being discovered all the time as the company evolves. We concentrate solely on Nova Scotia at this time.
